Orlando, LLC contracted with Hall-Irwin for this Design-Build project, which resulted in a 4,000-foot-long slurry wall at an average depth of 45 feet. During the design process, our team helped the owners analyze whether the construction of this wall would be profitable in the long term. After deciding in the affirmative, Hall-Irwin helped the owner with the entitlement process. We advised the owners to redesign the wall alignment to sit right on the property line, rather than inside of it, which would provide more capacity, and also benefit the neighboring landowners, who could simply tie into Orlando's wall when the time came for them to build their own slurry wall.
